Barcelona - Oct 12 / Wolf takes double win at SPEED Finale!

The SPEED Euroseries 2012 season came to a close at the weekend with a Barcelona finale at which seven manufacturers competed.

Despite the fierce competition, which included an entry from Brazilian F1 ace Enrique Bernoldi in a Tatuus, 2012 champion Ivan Bellarosa took the honours for both races in his Wolf.

The G-Cat Racing team Wolf driven by new boys Neil Primrose and James Swift made a promising debut, running 5th after just 30 minutes and finishing 6th in Race 1.

When the car stopped on lap 19 of Race 2 with a mechanical fault, it was disappointment for all, but the team worked quickly to replace a failed alternator and the car was back on track with 25 minutes remaining, providing some valuable track time for the drivers.

Latest News - Sep 12 / 'Travis' drummer to race Wolf with G-Cat

Versatile racer Neil Primrose is set to join the G-Cat Racing team with a Wolf chassis to compete in the SPEED Euroseries championship.

Primrose, who competes in historics, the VLN series and the FunCup, will give his new Wolf Honda GB08 its SPEED debut at Barcelona, ahead of a full season in 2013. The car, to be co-driven in Spain by Radical racer James Swift, will be run by G-Cat Racing with factory assistance.

Primrose, who is the drummer for Scottish band Travis, said: "I tried the Wolf at Brands Hatch and I've never driven something that felt so rock solid and reliable."

Primrose plans to contest as many SPEED races next year as he can fit around Travis' recording commitments. He will be co-driven by a professional sportscar racer and the car will still compete when Primrose is not available.

Spa Francorchamps - May 12 / G-Cat rise to the challenge!

Round 3 of the SPEED Euroseries took place at Spa and was once again dominated by Italian Wolf driver Ivan Bellarosa. Despite some challenging conditions and a few technical issues, G-Cat Racing fought to claim a satisfying 6th position in both races.

The first race took place in the dry and G-Cat Racing driver Greg Caton was set for a top 5 finish until an issue with the bodywork forced him to pull over for a quick fix! Caton quickly managed to rejoin the race and still claimed 6th place.

Race two encountered some extremely wet conditions providing the G-Cat team with their first experience of running the Wolf GB08 in the wet. An electrical glitch caused the car to lose horsepower but it held it's position well and the team yet again managed to pull through in 6th place.

After a challenging weekend in tough conditions, the team is satisfied with a positive finish to both races - testament to the durability of the Wolf GB08 and its drivers.

Nurburgring - Apr 12 / Double win for the Wolf!

This past weekend at Nurburgring proved another highly successful one for the G-Cat Racing Wolf GB08. Driven by Greg Caton and Alessandro Latif, the car not only gained 1st in class in the 2nd round of the German Sportscar Championship but also in the prestigious AVD 100 Mielen / 1 hour 20 minute race.

As well as the class wins, the G-Cat racing team finished ahead of many of the LMPC cars, taking 4th overall in the German Sportscar Championship and 2nd overall in the 100 Mielen. Given that the LMPC cars have 420bhp versus the Wolf's 250bhp, the fact that the G-Cat Racing Wolf lost by only 10 seconds overall in the 100 Mielen race is remarkable, and testament to the car's outstanding handling qualities.

Credit for these impressive feats lies with successful historic racer Greg Caton and young Italian prodigy Alessandro Latif, newly arrived from karting, who had completed only 3 days in the car before this weekend.

Team owner Greg Caton commented "We are delighted with this weekend. We've had the Wolf for less than a month and it's already finished 4th and 5th at the SPEED Paul Ricard and now a double win here! It highlights the incredible quality of this car as well as the potential of Alessandro Latif. Give us a little more time to get to know the car and Alessandro a little more experience, and we feel the potential could be huge."

Paul Ricard - Apr 12 / Great start to 2012 season

The opening round of the 2012 SPEED Euroseries took place at La Castellet over the weekend with an 18 car grid to entertain fans. Although both races were won by Italian Ivan Bellarosa's Wolf GB08, the G-Cat Racing Wolf of Rowland Kinch and Alessandro Latif was 5th fastest in the cars first outing - taking 5th position in race 1 and narrowly missing a podium finish with 4th position in race 2.

Team owner Greg Caton has only had the car for a fortnight with neither driver getting more than a couple of hours behind the wheel before the race weekend; Caton is positive that simple developments can be made to take the car further up the grid.

G-CAT Racing driver Doug Hard made a brilliant start to the weekend by qualifying on pole in class, with other 30 cars on the grid. In race two, Hart made an excellent start, taking an immediate lead in class. He maintained an impressive lead throughout the race to take a prestigious win at the renowned Oldtimer Grand Prix.

Brands Hatch July 2009 - Jul 09 / Double hit for G-Cat

The G-CAT Racing team left Brands Hatch with a satisfying double win this weekend following the success of Rowland Kinch in his Arrows A4 and Doug Hart in his March 75S.

By lap 11, Kinch had pulled out a lead of 3.7 seconds over the Brabham when Folch spun his BT49, leaving Kinch to take a win of over 26 seconds as well as fastest lap.
